Over the weekend I searched endlessly for photos from Dodger Stadium of Star Wars Night. Yhea, I know, I'm a geek. Anyway, it dawned on me that I had been searching the wrong place a along. So, this evening I went to the 501st Legion, Southern California Garrison website and found the below pics. Go here and here and here for more.

Card Of The Week: Burgeoning Ace

With this past Saturday's game a happy memory I thought it only proper to name a Clayton Kershaw card as this week's "Card of the Week." After all, after nearly a week of trying to clinch the division, Clayton pitched 6 scoreless innings on Saturday to assist in the Dodgers victory. Unfortunately, he didn't get the win, but who cares? Without his stellar performance we could have been forced to wait til the last game of the year to celebrate.

Besides, the card above is pretty bad ass. A confident kid with a steely glare shows off his grip for his four seam fastball, knowing full well that his curveball will make you jump out of your boots. I think it is fair to say that our true young ace has arrived. The card above is his 2009 Allen & Ginter Baseball card.

Do you remember Youppi, the Expos mascot? Well, when they left town Youppi went into retirement where most thought he would never be seen again. Now, we find out that he has just been adopted by the hometown favorites, Montreal Canadians.
Did you know there was a Womens World Cup Baseball tournament. Check it out here. Someday, in my lifetime, I suspect that a women will eventually play in the Major Leagues. (Hat Tip: A Cardboard Problem)
Night Owl Cards was so frustrated at the Rockies win on Friday he decided to throw a Brad Hawpe card in the dishwasher. Then he mowed over a Todd Helton the following morning.

With Halloween just around the corner I figured it is now a good time to check out some costume failures and some gorgeous ladies in costumes.
Washington Nationals slugger, Ryan Zimmerman dreams of joining a winning team- from The Onion.
Quietly marking a copy of The Washington Post with a small 'x' next to the team's name in the standings, just to see what it would look like if the Nationals had clinched a playoff spot. "See ya next week, Dodgers."
