Blog Kiosk: 11/8/2011

This is a gamer bat used by Andre Ethier during this seasons hitting streak that was donated to the Hall of Fame. This streak was named the 10th best moment of the year by the Hall. As you can see, Ethier used a Kemp bat for an at-bat. See the Hall commemorate it in the video below. (Pic Link: yfrog @BaseballHall)

eBay: 1962 Dodger Stadium Bronze Medal

I have probably written about this item before, but what they hay? It's worth mentioning again. This is a large bronze medal, measuring approximately 2.5' in diameter, that was available for sale at Dodger Stadium concession stands in 1962. It commemorates the dedication of the new stadium at Chavez Ravine. Notice how the front of the medal notes both the Dodgers and Angels. The Angels played at Dodger Stadium, they called it Chavez Ravine, til 1965. This medal sold on eBay at $20.50.
