Some Dodgers Memorabilia at Hunt's All Star Game Auction - Koufax, Campy and Gwynn

Last week I featured a questionnaire filled out by Dodgers legend Steve Garvey when he was just a rookie in 1970 (link here).  Today, I take a look at several other Dodger collectibles available at Hunt's All-Star Game FanFest auction.

Featured above is a rarity.  It is a Sandy Koufax home jersey that dates to 1966.  (Auction Link Here)  Per the auction description:
The jersey was acquired by a former MLB executive in 1973 (who lived in the Los Angeles area at the time) and has remained within his collection until the current offering. Additionally, the executive was a good acquaintance with long time Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers General Manager Buzzie Bavasi. In 1975, Bavasi became aware of the offered Koufax jersey within the collection of the consignor and in jest sent the executive a charming and satirical official MLB typed communique. The note was hand signed by Buzzie and dated July 31, 1975 teasing him that he "owed" Buzzie a check for $56.00 payable to him for the "stolen" uniform.

2016 Topps Now - Kenley Jansen Becomes All Time Saves King for Dodgers

For the second day in a row a Dodger player is given a 2016 Topps Now card to call his own.  Featured here is Kenley Jansen's card that highlights his franchise leading career save #162.  Go here to check it out and order.

Jansen has been so great for the Dodgers I though I'd pass along some quotes from his teammates acknowledging his work.  Via Jack Baer and Jamal Collier at MLB.com:
"The consistency that he brings every year to the back end of our games, it's nice to have," (Justin) Turner said. "It's nice to know when you pass the ball to him with the lead, you got a really good chance of winning the ballgame."

Check Out Joc Pederson's Crib

Last year we had a chance to look insider the home of Yasiel Puig (link here).  This time around Coldwell Banker gives us a tour of the place Joc Pederson calls home.  In fact, this is the same home he shares with several other Dodger teammates - Corey Seager, Trayce Thompson and Alex Wood (I assume he's still there even though he is on the DL).  BTW, Ross Stipling also called this place home when he was with the club early in the season.

Watch the video at the very bottom of this post.  Via Sam Shalom at Coldwell Banker Blog:
In 2016, we are leading off with a no-doubt home run.  Or, as Joc Pederson more succinctly puts it, “the awesomeness is outrageous in this house.”
Yeah... This place is incredible!

Blog Kiosk: 6/21/2016 - Dodgers Links - Meet Your Franchise Saves Leader Kenley Jansen

It's funny to think that this guy started out in pro ball as a catcher.

Kenley Jansen now holds the Dodgers franchise record for career saves at 162.  Last night he helped extend the Dodgers winning streak to four games by striking out two of the three batters he faced for his 20th save of the season. Via Doug Padilla at ESPN:
"He's really good. We've been spoiled," Kershaw said of Jansen immediately after a hard night's work was finished. "It just feels like when the ninth inning rolls around, we have a win. And you can't take that for granted. I'm happy for him. He's had a nice career here so far, and hopefully there is more to come."
It should be noted that his very first save of his career came in only his second big league appearance on July 25, 2010 with Clayton Kershaw on the mound to win his 10th game of the year.  His record setting save last night also came in relief of Kershaw for his 11th win of the season.
"Every time Kershaw is pitching, I have a great chance to get in there," Jansen said. "To get my first save with the Dodgers with him, and then to break the record with him, that's awesome."
BTW, Jansen has saved 33 of Kershaw's wins in his career.  Listen to Kenley speak about the record save with Alanna Rizzo here.  Photo above via Jon SooHoo/LA Dodgers 2016Go here to check out more pics by Jon from yesterdays game.  Below are more links to check out:
