2014 Topps High Tek Baseball - The Dodger Autograph and Insert Cards

Here's a final look at what is turning out to be a very popular set.  No doubt player collectors are starting to go crazy.  Heck, some of the base cards with rare variations are selling for big bucks.  A Nolan Ryan base card sold for $91.00 and a Omar Vizquel sold for $149.95.  BTW, Vizquel cards are selling for huge dollars.  Apparently, there must be some serious monied Omar collectors out there.  It's almost ridiculous.

Anyway, below are all of the Dodger autograph and insert cards that can be found in 2014 Topps High Tek.  Directly below are the on-card autograph cards.  Here is a listing of parallel cards available: Disco Diffractor #'d, Clouds Diffractor #'d, Black & White Image #/15, Red Storm Diffractor #/10, Blue Dots Diffractor #/5, Charcoal Galactic Diffractor 1/1, Printing Proofs 1/1

Yasiel Puig to be on Boxes of Topps Baseball Cards

Along with todays announcement (via Chris Olds at Beckett.com) regarding a new promotion within next years flagship product line is concept art for Topps Series One Baseball card boxes and packs, and as you can see our very own Cuban sensation is prominently featured.  Yasiel Puig will now hawk America's favorite Baseball card brand.

From pariah on the ballfield to coverboy for Topps 2015 Baseball cards, it's amazing how varied opinions of him are.  He elicits such incredible rage, yet is lovable enough to be featured on packs of cards.  With that kind of dichotomy there's no telling where else we might find his image.

BTW, Clayton Kershaw was featured on boxes and packs last season in Topps Series Two product line.

Blog Kiosk 12/5/2014 - Dodger Links - Andre Ethier, AJ Ellis and Van Slyke

Featured above are Shawn Green, Vin & Sandra Scully and Justin & Kourtney Turner.  They were on hand for an Dodger sponsor event for UPS at Dodger Stadium the other day.  Photo above via Jon SooHoo/LA Dodgers 2014.  Go here to see more photos from the evening.

Below are some links to check out:
"I'm using the winter to take a step and get myself back to where I need to be," Ethier said. "You can't expect people to give it to you. You've got to earn it. I'm going for it in the offseason, so I will be prepared to compete and win a job.

"[Management] is busy hustling to get the team and the organization to the way they want it to be -- not just setting us up for next year, but for years to come. That's what happens with a shakeup. We really don't need that much on the Major League level. We need a good system top to bottom."
But on the mound and in the clubhouse, it was a no-brainer, and the fact that new baseball bosses Andrew Friedman and Farhan Zaidi recognized that so quickly speaks volumes about the balance between numbers and intangibles that they could be willing to strike.

"It was based on the totality of his contributions to the team," Zaidi, the Dodgers' new general manager, said of Ellis. "It's not an intangible, it's a tangible that he creates."
  • Funny!
