Blog Kiosk: 10/10/2013 - Dodgers Links - Some Dodgers with Baseball Cards, Kershaw, Hanley and Much More

Wait a minute.  Are they looking at a bunch of Baseball cards in PSA graded holders?  Is Mitch Poole (the fellow on the far right) holding a Magic Johnson/Larry Bird 1980-81 Topps Rookie card?  Who's collection is this?  I want to know!  Pic via Jon SooHoo/LA Dodgers 2013.  See more pics from yesterday, here.
"I just have faith in Kersh, and he was magnificent," said Honeycutt. "You hold your breath any time anybody does something they don't regularly do. At the same time, it's this time of year, and he was adamant. Early on, he showed no ill effects and he didn't want to come out. He's just that type of guy."
"After I got here, the medical staff, man, they've been unbelievable," Ramirez said. "I think they're part of my success. I think I wouldn't be where I am now without them."

They've had two scouts on every contending team in the National League since mid-September. Against the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series, those scouts -- Willie Fraser and John Sanders -- had daily meetings with the Dodgers coaches and, occasionally, with Dodgers players.
  • Greg Zakwin at Plashke, Thy Sweater is Argyle puts together a writeup of last weekends card show in Culver City.
  • ICYMI... How could you?  It's been the talk of the past 24 hours.  If you haven't seen this, then stop what you're doing and watch it now.  A.J. Ellis joins Millar and Rose to discuss the Dodgers advancing, Magic Johnson as an owner, answer rapid fire questions and more.  It is hilarious.
