UPDATE! Weekend Autograph Opportunities: Landreaux & Sweet Lou Join the Dodgers Mall Tour this Weekend

Here are this weekends autograph opportunities and events throughout the Southland. As always, be sure to check the Blue Heaven Calendar for other events (a link can always be found on the tab at the top of this page, just left of center), and always confirm with the establishment. Everything is subject to change.  Please email me with any tips about upcoming events in Southern California.  As the rest of the week progresses I'll update this post with other events (if there are any) as I become aware of them.  Also, I don't always list every event below, so be sure to check my Calendar.  I always try to favor free signing events over paying events.  Click on any pic to embiggen.

Vin Scully Sure Can Carry a Tune - Watch Him Sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at Wrigley

It's amazing how one little video can keep you smiling for hours.  Check out what I mean below.

This video is from April 1998 at Wrigley Field, and was just posted by MLB on youtube last week.  This happened just a couple of months after the death of Harry Caray.

The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced eight additions to their professional and international scouting staffs.

Los Angeles will have two new advance scouts next year with Willie Fraser, who originally joined the club in 2012 as a professional scout, and the hiring of long-time White Sox scout Gary Pellant. Chris Smith returns to the Dodger organization as a professional scout after four seasons with Cleveland, joining pro scouting additions Ron Mahay (14-year MLB pitcher), Peter Bergeron (former MLB outfielder) and Greg Booker, who is returning to the scouting ranks after spending the last four seasons as pitching coach for Washington's Triple-A Syracuse club. In addition, Special Assistants, Player Personnel Josh Bard and Aaron Sele will expand their duties to include pro scouting.

Internationally, the club hired Hidenori Sueyoshi as Senior Manager, International Scouting Operations, Rafael Colon as Special Advisor, International Player Performance and Juan Garcia-Puig as a scout for Spain.
