A Gilliam Gamer and Guerrero's WS MVP Award at Paragon Auctions

Yesterday I featured a fun letter written by Walt Disney to former Dodgers GM Buzzie Bavasi (link here).  Today, I take a look at a couple other Dodgers related collectibles currently on auction at Paragon.

Above is a 1960 game-used jersey of Dodger great Jim Gilliam (Auction Link Here).  As you may know, Gilliam took over at second base for Jackie Robinson, and eventually won the 1953 Rookie of the Year Award.  By 1960 he moved over to cover third base for the team.  When his playing days were done he stayed with the franchise as a coach, and was considered heavily for the managerial job after Walter Alston.  In 1978 he died from a brain hemorrhage during the tail end of the Baseball season and had his number retired by the club soon thereafter.

Below is something you don't see very often.  Here is Pedro Guerrero's 1981 MLB and Sport Magazine's World Series MVP Award (Auction Link Here).  As you know, the Dodgers won the Fall Classic for the first time in sixteen years over the New York Yankees.  And they did it with the combined effort of three players who shared this MVP award - Pedro Guerrero, Steve Yeager and Ron Cey.
