In the past I've written about Dodger postcards here, here and here. Another stadium sold collectible are 8 x 10 photocards issued from 1967 to 1977. They were originally sold in a pack of 5 cards for a dollar, and the players available for any given year was governed by that years player roster. So, oftentimes, a player might have the same card sold over a multiple of years. Some of the more popular players will have more than one card available as existing stock was exhausted over time. For instance, Don Drysdale is known to have 3 different player photocards.
All of the cards are similar in design with white borders and the Dodger player either in a posed or in game-action photo The only exception is that the facsimile signatures are either in black or white.
These were also available individually at Dodger Stadium souvenior stands. They were $.25 each back in the 70's. I have about 15-20 that I bought as a kid, but I've been having a hard time finding them on eBay.
ReplyDeleteThe key on finding these on eBay is doing a general Dodger search in the vintage Baseball Memorabilia section. Most sellers have no idea what to call them so you have to be willing to go through a long list of items to find them. Good luck on your search.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize they were also sold individually. Thank you for the information.
