Giants Series Starts Tuesday - Dodgers Autographs, Stadium Giveaways, Pregame Info and Other Stuff!


The next homestand starts Tuesday evening against the San Francisco Giants. Below are some odds and ends for this upcoming homestand.

The Castro Dog will be available for this homestand only against the Gints at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas located on the field, loge and reserve levels. It features an all-beef hot dog wrapped in bacon and seared with pickled carrots, pickled jalapeƱos and pickled red onions and garnished with fresh cilantro.

The tenth 2016 issue of the new Dodger Insider magazine, featuring Yasmani Grandal on the cover, will be available at Dodger Stadium.  (see it on the left).  The Dodgers merged their previously separate Playbill and Dodger Insider magazines into one publication (at least 80 pages per issue) with a new edition available each homestand.  They are distributed at auto gates (one per vehicle) and via Fan Services for those who use alternate transportation.

Tuesday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Dodgers headphones.  See it on the right.

Local singer Trisha Mikko Lopez will perform the national anthem. Dodger alumni Al Ferrara will sign autographs in the left-field plaza pregame.
  • The Military Heroes of the Game are two veterans who volunteer with The Mission Continues, an organization that empowers veterans who are adjusting to life at home to find purpose through community impact. U.S. Army Sgt. Daniel Hinojosa of Sylmar spent the majority of his military career in Iraq. In 2008, he was hit by an IED device that resulted in a coma. After a long and painful recovery, he now attends Los Angeles Film School and volunteers for The Mission Continues. U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Josue Guerrero of Pacoima deployed to Iraq as part of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force RCT-1. He works as a peer counselor and educator to raise awareness of veterans dealing with PTSD and suicide.

Wednesday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM.

It is Healthcare Appreciation Night at Dodger Stadium.  Folks who ordered a special ticket package will get an exclusive Dodgers Scrub Top.  See that on the right.  If not already sold out go here for information.

As part of Healthcare Appreciation Day, a smoked chicken wrap will be available at Dodger Stadium. The smoked chicken wrap includes smoked chicken in a whole wheat tortilla with kale and cabbage slaw, honey mustard, Swiss cheese and a sliced tomato. It will be available for purchase at field level section 5, loge level section 132 and reserve level sections 5 and 11.

Dodger alumni Matt Luke will sign autographs in the left-field plaza pregame. Kelley Jakle, star of “Pitch Perfect 2” and great-granddaughter of Baseball Hall of Fame executive Branch Rickey, will perform the national anthem. Comedic legend, actor, director, producer and writer of comedy whose career spans nearly seven decades Carl Reiner will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

Congressman Pete Aguilar will also throw a first pitch. Aguilar represents California’s 31st Congressional District located in the Inland Empire. He is a San Bernardino native, former mayor of Redlands and was sworn into office January 6, 2015.
  • The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Donald Baker of Port St. Joe, FL. Baker enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2004 and attended boot camp at Parris Island, SC. He served three overseas tours, two to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. In 2015, Baker was medically retired from the Wounded Warrior Battalion-West at Camp Pendleton.

Thursday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Corey Seager Bobblehead.  See it on the left.

Dodger alumni Lee Lacy will sign autographs in the left-field plaza pregame. Olivia Hastings Holt, star of Disney XD series “Kickin’ It,” Disney Channel original movie “Girl vs. Monster” and the Disney Channel original series “I Didn’t Do It,” will perform the national anthem. Congresswoman Linda Sanchez will also throw a first pitch. Sanchez represents the 38th Congressional District of California which includes the communities of Artesia, Bellflower, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, La Mirada, La Palma, Montebello, Norwalk, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte and Whittier.
  • The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Air Force Technical Sgt. William Powell of Daytona Beach, FL. Powell is stationed at Port Hueneme, Naval Base Ventura County, where he works alongside the Navy Seabees. He is part of a team that trains Department of Defense personnel and supported Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Noble Eagle.
  • The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) conducts silent auctions throughout the season featuring signed pieces of memorabilia from Dodger players, coaches and alumni. Auctions take place behind the Vin Scully press box on the club level. The items for auction Thursday include a Kenta Maeda autographed jersey, a Corey Seager autographed photo and an Orel Hershiser autographed baseball. More than 25 items will be up for bid.
  • The Dodgers will play host to Marcus Cato, a 21-year-old battling Leukemia, on the field for batting practice. DKMS, the non-profit leading the fight against blood cancer, in partnership with Rally For A Match, an organization dedicated to providing patient support and increasing bone marrow donor registration, are leading the charge to find a life-saving bone marrow donor for Marcus. Marcus is a die-hard Dodger fan, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in May and is in desperate need of a bone marrow donor. To register to save Marcus’ life or the lives of thousands of other patients waiting for a donor visit DKMS.org.
