Ropa Vieja

There are two new food items being made available for this homestand only, and they are available at the On Deck Circle stand on Field Level section 48, Loge Level section 133 and Reserve Level section 4. First, you can get the Cuban Torta which features Smoked Pork, Thin sliced Deli Ham, Dill Pickles, Swiss Cheese, Yellow Mustard, stacked on Telera Bread and pressed.

Also available is the Ropa Vieja. This features Braised Beef with Pepper, Onions, and Olives, mounded on Steamed Basmati Rice, Black Beans and topped with Pico de Gallo.

A holdover from the last series, you can also get the Chorizo Torta that features a Chorizo sausage split in half, ranchero bean spread, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, queso fresco, and smoke jalapeno aioli.

A Brooklyn Dodgers Passport to the 1955 World Series

The little child inside has been wanting to add this little novelty item to my collection for years. Featured here is a, circa 1955, Brooklyn Dodgers Passport.

As you can see, it includes a dark blue passport holder with the Brooklyn Dodger logo emblazoned on it. Tucked inside that is the passport that features an unofficial seal of the team. That includes a requisite baseball at bats, a view of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Dodger "Bum" himself, and the "Tree of Heaven Ailanthus Altissima." At bottom is the Latin phrase "Sigillum Civitatis Breuckelen," or the Seal of the City of Brooklyn.

Welcome to the Blue, Max Muncy!

Max Muncy has already made an impact on the Dodgers. A few days ago Muncy was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City, and ended up belting his very first homer in Dodger Blue on Wednesday. As you surely know by now, Muncy was called up on Tuesday to replace Breyvic Valera. Per Eric Stephen at True Blue LA:

Muncy signed with the Dodgers last season and hit .309/.414/.491 with 20 doubles and 12 home runs in 109 games for Oklahoma City, and started this season 10-for-32 (.313/.421/.563) with two home runs and two doubles in Triple-A before the call up. He saw time mostly at third base and first base last year but also mixed in time at second base and both outfielder corners.

One week ago today in 1968 Dodger Hurler Don Drysdale recorded his 191st career win -- breaking a Dodger franchise record held by Dazzy Vance. Don accomplished the feat when he threw a four-hit shutout against the Mets, 1-0. The display behind him also notes that his shutout was the 41st of his career; which was also a Dodgers record.

There are two new food items being made available for this homestand only, and they are available at the On Deck Circle stand on Field Level section 48, Loge Level section 133 and Reserve Level section 4. First, you can get the DC Half Smoked Sausage which features a Pork and Beef smoked sausage topped with chili con carne, diced onions & mustard.

Chorizo Torta

Also available is the Pastrami Fries. This features Golden Crispy Fries topped with pastrami and brown gravy.

You can also get the Chorizo Torta that features a Chorizo sausage split in half, ranchero bean spread, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, queso fresco, and smoke jalapeno aioli.

The Topps Living Set - #17 Chris Taylor - The First Dodger

Have you heard of the Topps "Living Set"?

Introduced at the beginning of this season, Topps has created a whole new concept in collecting. They have put together a set that has will have no end and is not tied to any specific season or era. Rather, it's a cross-generational brand that will issue one card for every player -- unless that player changes teams. In other words, this set will continue to grow in size seemingly forever with only one card per player/per team. For instance, ten years from now they will still be adding to the set, and assuming a player like Clayton Kershaw never changes teams, you will only find one card of him available.
