One week ago today in 1968 Dodger Hurler Don Drysdale recorded his 191st career win -- breaking a Dodger franchise record held by Dazzy Vance. Don accomplished the feat when he threw a four-hit shutout against the Mets, 1-0. The display behind him also notes that his shutout was the 41st of his career; which was also a Dodgers record.
The photo above was taken by Dodgers photographer Don Ploke and recently sold at RMY Auctions at $39. Below are more links to check out:
- This Day in Dodgers History: In 1999 the Dodgers surpass the 100 million mark in attendance at Dodger Stadium. In 2011 it is announced that MLB will be taking over the operations of the Dodgers due to concerns over the finances of team owner Frank McCourt.
