2015 Topps MLB Stickers - The Dodger Cards

I thought I'd take a brief break from my fawning over Heritage Baseball cards to focus Friday's attention on another release by Topps.  On Wednesday they put into stores their annual sticker set and below are pics of all the Dodger players found within it.  Go here to check out a complete checklist.

This is a kind of set that only appeals to the young.  Kids just love putting these on everything.  From their lunch pails to homework assignments, you can find these little collectibles splattered about everywhere.  But for the adult they are treated in a rather dismissive manner.  After all, who wants a little sticker when beautiful cardboard is available.  So, I can't imagine it's big business in America, but it sure is widely popular just about everywhere else.  Last I read, Panini generates over a billion in sales from their stickers worldwide, and during the last Word Cup fears of a shortage emerged when 300,000 packs were stolen by thieves in Brazil.  No worries, though, they made more than enough to satisfy the demand.

Who knows?  Maybe someday these little morsels will gain a big following in America, but something tells me it's likely that cardboard mania will hit foreign shores instead.  Sale of soccer (futbol) cards have been selling briskly abroad, with autographed inserts consistently selling for values unseen for American Baseball cards.
