This Just Might be the Best Dodgers' Baseball Card of the Year

When I first saw this card a sudden warm feeling came over me. I was immediately transported back in time to that ballgame in late September - when the sun was shinning and the Dodgers had a sizable lead going into the last home game of the season.

The date was Sunday, September 25, 2016 and we were hosting the Colorado Rockies. On this day the Dodgers had the opportunity to clinch the National League West, and as luck would have it they did just that when Charlie Culberson hit a walk-off homer.

The crowd roared, the Dodgers bench cleared and soon an on-field celebration would commence. But before they escaped to the clubhouse for a traditional champagne shower they made sure to pay homage to the man who had seen more Dodger history than anyone in the stadium. They gathered in front of the pitching mound and paid their dearest respects to the man behind the mic - Vin Scully.

The card you see featured here commemorates this exact occasion, and I must say it is clearly ahead of the pack when it comes to the best Dodger card of the year.

It can be found as a part of the base set in packs of 2017 Topps Series 2 Baseball cards -- release just this week at stores near you. Below is the reverse of the card. Unfortunately, the card doesn't tell you who they are waving at, but you and I know.
