NLDS Series Against Nationals Starts on Thursday -- A Playoff Homestand Preview

The National League Division Series match-up between the Dodgers and the Washington Nationals begins on Thursday.  Below are some odds and ends for this series. Information about each game is still a bit scarce, so I will update this post as more information become available. Here are some important links:

Below are some news stories/articles/previews of the NLDS that I thought worth checking out:
This five-game series sets up a clash between the top two starting rotations in the senior circuit. The Dodgers starters posted a park- and league-adjusted FIP 19% better than league average, and the Nationals were just a point right behind them. But in a short series, the quality of the top of the rotation is paramount, and these two teams are very top-heavy.

NLDS Game 1
Thursday, October 3rd at 5:37 PM PDT
Dodger Stadium
Patrick Corbin vs. Walker Buehler
TV: TBS, TBS-INT
Radio: ESPN Radio, AM 570 LA Sports, KTNQ 1020

Thursday's game starts at 5:37 PM. Auto gates open at 3:10 PM, and stadium gates open at 3:40 PM. Pregame begins at 5:00 PM.

This is a first for a Dodger playoff game. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive Cody Bellinger Postseason bobblehead. There are two different versions available -- in home white or road grey. See them on the right. They will be handed out at the gate as you enter and it will be handed out randomly -- so, you do not get to pick and chose which one you get.

The national anthem will be performed by American blues and Southern soul singer Charles Jones. After setting a single-season franchise attendance record this year, the Dodgers will honor longtime season ticket members with ceremonial first pitches during the NLDS. Lorraine Bradley, whose family – including her late father former Los Angeles mayor Tom Bradley – has held season tickets since 1958, will throw a ceremonial first pitch.

This is mere speculation, but I'm fairly certain that the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation will hold a silent auction on the Club Level outside the Vin Scully Press Box during today's game, and new for 2019, fans can bid on the unique memorabilia using MLB’s Ballpark App. Also new for 2019, fans will be able to purchase tickets for LADF’s 50-50 raffle using their credit cards. LADF will also continue to offer ribbon board messages as a fundraiser in 2019.

The national anthem will be performed by nine year-old Madison Baez. Following a desire to honor longtime season ticket holders, Chuck Berney, who is celebrating his 50th anniversary as a Dodger season ticket member, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
