Auto Collection: Preacher Roe Showcase

Preacher Roe was one of the spitball kings of the 40's and 50's. He was crafty, deceptive and an unquestionable winner when he wore Dodger Blue.

Here is my 2005 Fleer Showcase "Autographed Legacy" card of Roe.

  • Stan Musial received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, via TCPalm.
  • Here is a great photo of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby in their Baseball uniforms. For those who don't know, Hope was a part owner of the Indians and Crosby was a part owner of the Pirates. I have a handful of publicity photos from this photo event in my collection. I will have to dig them out and scan them. Photo comes from "If Charlie Parker Was a Gunslinger..."
  • Roberto is everywhere the Dodgers are. Check out his report on the LA River clean up on Monday; Part 1; Part 2.
  • Also, check out a post from Linda, at LEAVes of Dodger Blue, about her time as a part of the LA River clean-up crew. Also, luvthedodgers23 has a bunch of pics up on twitter; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
  • For you musical enjoyment, here is Woodrow Buddy Johnson & Count Basie with their 1949 hit "Did You See Jackie Robinson Hit That Ball?"
