Dodgers Blog Kiosk: 11/6/2012

Panini unveiled some preview pics of a new Baseball card set that will be released later on this week (Thursday).  It is called 2012 Signature Series Baseball.  Go here to see a bunch of preview pics.  A Tim Federowicz and Andre Ethier autographed manufactured patched cards are featured above and below.  BTW, the Panini Cooperstown set is slated to officially be released this coming Wednesday.
  • I don't know how this makes any sense, but Matt Kemp won the Dodgers' Wilson Defensive Player of the Year award, via Ken Gurnick at MLB.com. Wha.....?  He missed much of the season, and there still was nobody else who was better defensively?
  • Night Owl Cards celebrates the 1952 Dodgers by sharing his 1974 TCMA 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers set.  I've always wanted this one.
  • True to the Blue blog recaps the recent massive Dodgers signing event this past Saturday.  He's got a bunch of photos of his autograph "gets."
  • Brandon League's new contract may be worth as much as $33.5Mil, via Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times.
  • Eric Stephen at True Blue LA has a complete list of Dodgers free agents.
  • Mark Saxon at ESPN ranks available starting pitchers for the Dodgers.
  • I hate you John Shea of the SF Gate.
Contrary to the statement from the L.A. reliever, a case can be made that the Dodgers, in the eyes of the Giants and even their fans, never have been so irrelevant.

Collection: 2000 Dodgers Police LAPD Baseball Card Set

Following up on my series of post focused on Dodgers LAPD police sets throughout the years, here are scans of the 2000 LAPD Police set.  To see those other police sets I have featured go here.  These cards are the same size as your normal Baseball card, and were distributed as a game give-away in full sheet form.  Each card was perforated on the sheet to allow fans to easily tear them apart.

Below is a look at what the reverse of the cards look like.

Eric Gagne makes his debut in this set.
