Dodgers Pride Night at the Kings Game on Monday

In what has become an annual event, the LA Kings are holding their Dodgers Pride Night at this coming Monday, January 13th, game against the Vancouver Canucks.  A special ticket package is available - which comes with a commemorative puck.  Go here for information.

In the past, a Dodger player (or someone in the front office) comes out to drop the opening puck, but who that will be has yet to be announced.  Also, in years past a former Dodger player comes out to sign autographs for fans in the concourse at Staples Center.  That too has yet to be announced.  I will certainly post up details when further announcements are made.

I'm hoping the Kings will sell some of those Dodgers themed hockey jerseys.  To see what I mean check out this post from last year.  I'm still disappointed that the NHL didn't chose to use this design for the upcoming outdoor hockey game at Dodger Stadium.  I think they are missing a great opportunity to market the game to LA area Baseball fans.

Also, I'm hoping Tommy Lasorda is chosen to drop the opening puck on Monday.  He has a way of doing it that cracks me up, every time.  Watch this video to see what I mean.

"Yasiel is going to have some expectations. The orginization can't let him just do whatever he wants and be a wildcard." He added, "We know he's a great player, we want him to be even better. The Dodgers are really intrigued in the community, they do a lot of good things in the community and we also want him to be a great example for the kids out there that are watching him play."
