Too Funny Not To Share

This is not Baseball related, but it's funny. From The Smoking Gun.

It doesn't get more embarrassing than this. This skier in Vail recently had a little mishap while entering the chairlift. He somehow falls out, is hanging upside down and is pant-less. Woops!

Collection: Dodger 8 x 10 Photocards

Some of the best vintage LA Dodger items do not have to be the most expensive. In fact, they can be had for a song and a dance.

In the past I've written about Dodger postcards here, here and here. Another stadium sold collectible are 8 x 10 photocards issued from 1967 to 1977. They were originally sold in a pack of 5 cards for a dollar, and the players available for any given year was governed by that years player roster. So, oftentimes, a player might have the same card sold over a multiple of years. Some of the more popular players will have more than one card available as existing stock was exhausted over time. For instance, Don Drysdale is known to have 3 different player photocards. My trusted 2002 Standard Catalog indicates that there are 109 total cards available for the entire decade long run, but I believe that might be incomplete. It is not uncommon for uncatalogued cards to show up from time to time.

All of the cards are similar in design with white borders and the Dodger player either in a posed or in game-action photo The only exception is that the facsimile signatures are either in black or white.
So far I've scanned 18 cards in my photoalbum. See them here. I hope to add to that total over the coming several weeks. By the way, the 18 cards (plus another 5 other unscanned cards) in the album were purchased on eBay a couple of months ago for as little as $15.00, including shipping.
