The next (and last) homestand starts on Friday against the San Diego Padres. Below are some odds and ends for this upcoming homestand; including numerous autograph opportunities. Below are some important links:

Friday, September 21st at 7:10 PM
Rich Hill Ross Stripling vs Eric Lauer
TV: SportsNet LA, SNLA Spanish
Radio: AM 570 LA Sports, KTNQ 1020

Friday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM. Dodger batting practice will be from 4:20 PM - 5:20 PM. Padres batting practice will be from 5:25 PM - 6:20 PM.

It is Friday Night Fireworks, so fans will be able to go down onto the outfield after the game to watch the spectacle. The night's theme will be a Hispanic Heritage Night Mix. Go here for more information on Friday Night Fireworks.

Beginning at 6:00 PM Steve Garvey will host the last "Way We Were" Q&A session with Eric Karros at the Kings Hawaiian Grill located in the left field plaza.

This evening, though, will be highlighted by a special pregame ceremony welcoming legendary Spanish language broadcaster and Hall of Famer Jaime Jarrín to the Dodgers' Ring of Honor. He will be the 12th Dodger to be so honored. Please arrive early. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM. Jarrin has spent 60 years with the franchise. BTW, it was recently announced that Jarrín has agreed to a two-year contract extension -- until the 2020 season.
“It seems like it was just yesterday that I was at the Coliseum in 1959 and started my work with the Dodgers, the time goes so fast. I’m still enjoying it just as much as I did 60 years ago. I love what I do, and it’s a privilege for me to be able to do it. I have had the opportunity to work with the best of the best, ballplayers, broadcasters and staff, and I have been so fortunate throughout my career. Of course, I have to thank the Dodgers and especially my wife Blanca for her support and for allowing me to do what I love all these years.”
I still haven't figured out if I like this little giveaway. For the first time ever (possibly throughout all of sports) the Dodgers are giving away a Digital Bobblehead (huh?) featuring either Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen or Justin Turner. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will have an opportunity to download a player Crypto token to their Ethereum wallet (whatever that is). The player Crypto token received will be randomly selected, with approximately an equal number of Kershaw, Turner and Jansen codes distributed at the stadium gates.

It is School Employee Appreciation Night at Dodger Stadium. Folks who order a special ticket package will get an exclusive Dodgers' School Employee Appreciation Night t-shirt. See that on the left. If not already sold out go here for more information.

Chase Utley has been named the winner of the 13th annual Roy Campanella Award -- given to the Dodger player who best exemplifies the spirit and leadership of the late Hall of Fame catcher. As a part of a pregame ceremony, Joni Campanella Roan, daughter of Roy Campanella, and his grandson J.T. Campanella, will present the award to Chase. BTW, this si the second time he has won this award. Former Dodger shortstop Rafael Furcal received the inaugural Roy Campanella Award in 2006 and since then the honor has been awarded to Russell Martin (2007), James Loney (2008), Juan Pierre (2009), Jamey Carroll (2010), Matt Kemp (2011), A.J. Ellis (2012), Clayton Kershaw (2013-14), Zack Greinke (2015), Utley (2016) and Justin Turner (2017).  Per Andrew Friedman:
“He’s as good as it gets. The effect he has had throughout. If you think back to 2015, to that point we were one of the worst base-running teams in baseball. We get Utley, and from that point through the end of the season on we were second. It speaks to the effect he can have. He has had as much and as lasting of an impact as I’ve ever seen a player have on an organization.’’

  1. The gf and I went to Friday's game and got the digital bobblehead. Search "Dodgers Digital Bobblehead" on eBay (sold listings) and you might be surprised.
