2016 Topps Wacky Packages - All the Dodgers Cards

Topps puts the "Wacky" into Baseball cards.

Initially created in 1967 and reprised numerous times since that time, Wacky Packages has proved to be a popular and iconic product.  For those who don't know, these cards are actually stickers featuring cartoonish parodies of various American consumer products.  Usually focused on retail corporate brands, this years Wacky Packages set, released just last week, aims their special brand of humor at Major League Baseball.  Go here for a complete checklist.

This set is called 2016 Topps MLB Wacky Packages Trading Cards, and every team has two different "Wacky" stickers to call their own.  There are also stickers for fifteen minor league clubs, various other events and ballpark food.  BTW, there are Dodgers' inserts to chase after; including an autographed Yasmani Grandal card, a ticket relic card, "1 of 1" sketch cards and various other artist autograph cards.  Check them out below.

#20 Dodgers Sushi

In addition to the various other sticker parallels, a limited number (#/5) of artist autograph cards are available.  Below is the "Dodgers Sushi" card signed by David Gross.

I wish they made more cartoon Dodgers cards.  Below is the Grandal autographed insert card.

This next insert is mighty strange; considering the club stopped printing tickets for their season ticket holders last year.  Nevertheless, the ticket inserted in the card below is from one of the teams walk-off wins from last season.  As you'll recall, the Dodgers defeated the Angels on a Andre Ethier walk-off home run in the 10th inning on August 2, 2015.

As I had indicated, there are numerous "1 of 1" sketch cards, and as you can see the Dodgers cards all appear to focus on the chap eating some "Dodger Sushi."  Below is a grouping of the sketch cards found so far.

  1. I was wondering if any other baseball collectors would be picking these up. It's a small base set and I've just about put the whole set together just buying retail packs. Ironically enough, I pulled both of the Dodgers cards before I pulled either one of the Braves cards.
