- Last night was the Dodger Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala at the Stadium featuring Fleetwood Mac. The event not only highlighted the good works by the foundation but also celebrated the long career of Vin Scully. “I can sum up the love affair I’ve had with the game of baseball, and the love affair I’ve had with the Dodgers, in two words: ‘Thank God,’ ” Scully said. “I will thank you until the end of time, and I will thank you tonight for this wonderful honor, but more importantly, for you coming here tonight to contribute to the Foundation. It takes time, and it took money for you to be here tonight.
“I wish I could swing with Fleetwood Mac — that would be a sight and sound, wouldn’t it? Anyway, I don’t know how I can say ‘thank you’ any better after this wonderful evening for me, so again, thank you God, and thank you, so very, very much.”

“It was good to get up and down three times,” Anderson said after his outing. “Some weird plays and circumstances and stuff that you’d rather deal with now with a guy going down in the outfield and delays and stuff that probably doesn’t happen in the big leagues. In Ogden, he's part of a great 1-2-3 punch. Peters' recent exploits landed him Pioneer League Player of the Week honors. Currently his OPS is 1.118; his on-base percentage is .482.
"Just hitting pitches where they're thrown," Chubb said. "And he's done a good job of doing damage on pitches middle in, and then he has the ability to drive the ball out to all fields, as we saw the other night."

For a day, that group of volunteers included family of the Dodgers' organization. As she prepared corn in the Center's kitchen, Ellen Kershaw, wife of Clayton Kershaw, expressed pride in how the group came together to do good, and said that Wednesday wouldn't be the only time they work to give back to the Los Angeles community.
"We're getting to look out as we're cooking and seeing the women that we're getting to serve, and that's a really special thing, to see first-hand the impact that we're getting to make," Kershaw said. "Also just to realize the need that's in L.A. I think that sometime just going back and forth to Dodger Stadium, it's easy to miss this part of town where there really is so much need. There's so much opportunity to serve."
