UPDATE: Carla Cammack has been named the 2018 Honorary Bat Girl as a part of the leagues “Going To Bat Against Breast Cancer” initiative. Cammack  was hand-picked by the Dodgers to represent the club. She will throw an honorary first pitch this Sunday, on Mother's Day. Cammack will also receive an engraved Louisville Slugger pink bat and a commemorative jersey. Per a press release:
Carla Cammack is a 20‐year survivor of Stage Three Breast Cancer. A routine mammogram in 1997 detected a lump that turned out to be Stage Three Breast Cancer. Her treatment included two surgeries a week apart, nine months of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation.
In 2010, Carla was at the bedside of her dearest friend, Nanci as she received the last rites at the end of a seven‐year battle with Stage Four Breast Cancer. Carla promised her friend that she would use her example of strength and courage to inspire others and she continues to fulfill that promise at every opportunity. That personal loss helped Carla make the decision to undergo a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction only months after Nanci’s passing.
For the past twenty years, Carla has been volunteering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. During that time, Carla has spoken on behalf of Komen on countless occasions, including television and radio interviews. Whether speaking to a large group or an individual through her mentoring, Carla continues to fulfill her promise to her dear friend.
As you know, ballplayers throughout the league will be wearing special Mother's Day caps and socks. Below is a peek at what the Dodgers will be wearing.

It is also Youth Days at Dodger Stadium. Little Leaguers, baseball, and softball teams in uniform will have the opportunity to parade the field before the game. All you have to do is buy discounted tickets, bring out your family and friends, and help raise money for your team or league. Go here for more information.
