Blog Kiosk: 6/6/2018 - Dodgers Links - "We're Back in the Mix"

See... There was nothing to worry about. After what felt like a lifetime, the Dodgers have finally reach the brim of the giant hole that they dug for themselves at the start of this season. They are now officially at .500 with a record of 30-30 and 102 games left to play. Best yet, they are just two games back of the lead. Per Bob Cohn at
"We're back in the mix, and now the goal is to keep playing good baseball," Roberts said after his team won for the 14th time in 18 games, a 5-0 victory over the Pirates at PNC Park paced by three home runs and another splendid outing by starter Ross Stripling.

  • I'm not exactly sure this is all about, but it seems certain it has nothing to do with the teams' operations. Frankly, it sounds like a bunch of gossip that could potentially morph into corporate financial malfeasance. Via Jon Shazar at Dealbreaker; "Guggenheim CEO Not Enjoying The Dodgers’ First Pennant In 30 Years."
The SEC’s probe into Guggenheim Partners’ relationship with Bob Diamond grew into a look at Walter’s home-buying practices, including an $85 million pad in Malibu he personally co-owns and a house in Pacific Palisades that his lady friend—who is not his special lady, according to Guggenheim—has been living in. And to top it all off, said lady friend, on-leave Guggenheim global head of internal distribution Alexandra Court, has left to do her own thing.
