Campanella has the injured finger showing out of his mitt. The injury has kept him out of some exhibition games.

  • This Day in Dodgers HistoryIn 1981 Fernando Valenzela is named the Southern California Athlete of the Year by the sports editors of the Southlands major newspapers. This caps off a fantastic season where he was an All-Star, wins the Cy Young, Rookie of the Year, Silver Slugger and a World Series ring for the Dodgers. He also won a Sporting News triple crown -- named the winner of the Major League Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Rookie Pitcher of the Year Awards.

Hill then issued a statement, saying: “Despite Saturday’s events, my great respect for law enforcement remains unchanged. However, seeing my wife cuffed for a problem that started because of her fanny pack was extremely difficult to witness. This was all overblown and am glad to have it behind us.’’
Another report indicates that, "Rich Hill was 'violent and aggressive' toward police officer, leading to arrest" -- via Eric He at Yahoo Sports.
 As officers were trying to load Caitlin Hill into a police van, Rich Hill approached and objected. According to a police report, Hill was issued three commands to stand back, but then “became focused and wide eyed.” An officer wrote that Hill lunged at him in a “tumultuous manner” and yelled that he did not have to move. The officer, Detective Patrick J. Hoffman, believed that Hill was trying to intimidate him.
“At this time, I told Mr. Richard Hill he was under arrest,” Hoffman wrote.

Inductees into the Hall of Fame include Allan H. “Bud” Selig, Vin Scully, Billy Williams, Tony Gwynn, Vida Blue and Al Siebert, according to a press release
“The Cactus League luncheon celebrates the opening of spring training, the best time of year in Arizona,” Cactus League President Jeff Meyer said in a prepared statement.
