2012 Topps Tribute- The Dodger Auto's

Following up on my post from earlier this week, I wanted to take a little bit of time to show some of the Dodgers autographed inserts in this years Topps Tribute set. These cards look really great, and come already sealed in a plastic case from Topps to protect them from damage. To me, the casing is unnecessary, but I'm sure those condition sensitive collectors out there appreciate the effort.

I count five different Dodgers autographing cards in the set, and found that several of them have photograph variations available. For instance, the Clayton Kershaw has two different autograph card variations available (on top of the parallels that exist). See them below.


Andre Ethier appears to have just one style, but I did run into a "1 of 1" Ethier card with gold ink and "Think Blue" written on it. It's likely every card has a companion "1 of 1" card with a phrase written in by the athlete.

Nathan Eovaldi has three different autographed card variations in Topps Tribute.

Dee Gordon has two different variations.

Sandy Koufax, the "Hit" of the set if you ask me, looks glorious. Check out the "HOF 72" card below.

UPDATE:  Ii've just discovered that Matt Kemp also has some Tribute autographed cards, and there are at least 3 different versions.  See them below.  These were likely all redemptions.

2012 Topps Tribute- Dodgers Base Cards

As many of you Baseball collectors probably already know, Topps just released their 2012 Topps Baseball Tribute set to rousing applause. Collectors really seem to have fallen in love with the design of the cards and I can't blame them. They are super shiny with a simple design that emphasizes some great photos. Check out the 5 Dodgers within the base set in this post.
As I will show in a future post, collectors love that all autographed cards are on-card (not sticker autos) that look great with Topps simple design. On top of that, when Topps realized their error in including some sticker autographs that were meant to be bonus cards not a part of the original set configuration they quickly announced a solution. The Tribute To The Stars autographs were originally supposed to be incrementally placed extra hits in the product. Instead, these cards have been found in place of an autograph or Relic.

On Friday, the company announced that it will send a pack of 2011 Bowman Sterling (two autographs and one Relic per) to anyone who sends a Tribute to the Stars card in to the company to have its serial-number verified and have it returned along with the pack.

2012 Topps Tribute Preview Pic- Ethier Auto

The upcoming Baseball card collecting season is about start. With all of the excitement centered around Topps release of their flagship Baseball card product next week (on Wednesday) they went ahead and released a preview pic, on twitter, of one of their other sets called Topps Tribute. This set should be arriving in stores in just under two weeks. Here is a 1 of 1 Andre Ethier 2012 Topps Tibute card with a nice little inscription.

Early 2012 Topps Tribute Dodger Pics

Topps is just trying to wet our appetite. They have just unveiled some preview photos for a 2012 Baseball card product called Topps Tribute. Above is a Sandy Koufax autographed card and below is a Matt Kemp auto. This is a high-end product that will likely cost an arm and a leg to buy.
