2013 Topps Baseball Spring Fever - Dodgers' Cards

Hold on folks.  I wasn't quite done with the Dodger cards that can be found in packs of 2013 Topps Series 1 Baseball cards.  Randomly inserted into packs are 'Spring Fever' redemption cards that must be turned in to participating card/hobby shops throughout the country from February 20th to the 27th.  To the right is what the redemption card looks like.  One redemption card gets you a free 5 card pack of 'Spring Fever' cards.  See a complete list of participating stores here.  If you have one of these cards hurry up and get your pack right away.  Be sure to contact the store first to make sure they have packs remaining.  Below are the 3 Dodgers in the base set, as well as, an autographed card of AJ Ellis.

Dodgers Base Cards:
#SF-22 A.J. Ellis

#SF-23 Adrian Gonzalez

#SF-48 Matt Kemp

Autographed Spring Fever Autographed Card.

2013 Topps Baseball Cards Series 1 - Dodgers Base Cards

This post will wrap up my complete look at Dodgers cards found in 2013 Topps Series 1 Baseball card packs.  Check out my previous post on this set here.

Featured below are the Dodgers base cards from 2013 Topps Baseball Series 1.  I've included scans of both the front and reverse (with exception to #81 ERA Leader card).  In my mind, the best thing about this set are the backs.  It's filled with stats and little tidbits about the players career.  Sometimes, you find some real gems.

As always, click on any pic to embiggen.  I definitely encourage that you take a closer look at the back of each one.

9 Dee Gordon

Here's one thing I didn't know.  Dee Gordon's card tell us that he was mentored by Barry Larkin, who lives in the same neighborhood as his dad, Tom.

16 Andre Ethier

Andre Ethier did something rare, and Clayton Kershaw loves Taylor Swift.

22 Clayton Kershaw

56 Joe Blanton

74 Kenley Jansen

81 ERA Leaders: Kershaw, Dickey Cueto

Only Paco's Mom calls him Steven.

99 Paco Rodriguez

158 Chad Billingsley

182 Randy Choate

191 Chris Capuano

219 Josh Beckett

228 Adrian Gonzalez

242 Matt Kemp

263 Ted Lilly

295 Brandon League

306 Jerry Hairston

The AJ Ellis description is just plain awesome.  Here it is in full:
As a 31-year-old with 206 previous Major League at-bats, AJ's success made him one of the most compelling breakout stories in 2012.  His cerebral game-management and his personal philosophy of "I love guys who play defense and put the team first" - won him the job.  Ellis' bat was just a bonus, as he had his initial walk-off homer and first two-blast game.
314 AJ Ellis

2013 Topps Baseball Cards - Dodgers Base Insert Cards

After what has felt like forever, I finally received my 2013 Topps Dodgers Baseball cards.  They arrived in the mail the other day, and I finally had a chance to scan them.  Check out my past blog post on this set here.

Today, I start with the base insert cards.  Tomorrow, I'll have pics of both the front and reverse of each Dodger card.  As always, click any pic to embiggen.

These are the 1972 Topps Mini Cards, and 4 Dodgers are in the 50 card set.

TM-10 Adrian Gonzalez

The best part about Baseball cards is the writing on the back.  In the below Ethier card we find out that he has stroked 30 doubles in 6 consecutive season, and if he does it again this year he'll break a club record.

TM-22 Andre Ethier

Remember, Clayton's nickname is "The Claw," or so says on the reverse.  It says, "'The Claw' features mid-90s velocity and a hammer of a curveball."

TM-23 Clayton Kershaw

TM-49 Matt Kemp

Below are the Chasing History Insert Cards.  As you can see, each player achieved some notable milestone.

CH-22 Matt Kemp

CH-46 Hanley Ramirez

CH-49 Jackie Robinson

CH-50 Sandy Koufax

The last card is a Greats Insert card of Sandy Koufax.  He is the lone Dodger representative in this 30 card set.  This card is approx. 3x thicker than a normal 2013 Topps card, and has the look of a premium card like the Topps Museum or Marquee sets.

TG-24 Sandy Koufax
