2016 Donruss Optic Baseball - The Dodgers Autograph Cards

Here is a final look at the 2016 Donruss Optic Baseball card set.  Featured below are all of the Dodgers autograph cards.  Of special note are the "Rated Rookies Retro Signature" cards of Corey Seager. It's really neat seeing Seager on these classic Donruss designs from the 80's.

Now that you've seen the 2016 Panini Optic Dodgers' base cards here are the handful of inserts that are available.  I should have pics of most of the autographed cards in a few days.

2016 Donruss Optic Baseball - The Dodgers Base Cards

A couple of days ago Panini America debuted their newest Baseball card brand.  It is called Donruss Optic, and as you can see it mimics basic Donruss design elements with chrome-style cardboard.  Basically, it's Panini's version of Topps Chrome cards.  Go here for a complete checklist.

Below are the Dodger base cards in the set.

Blog Kiosk: 7/19/2016 - Dodgers Links - Some Odds and Ends

With the Dodgers scheduled for a day off in Washington DC yesterday several players and staff members decided to take on the town like a bunch of tourist.  For some, a stop at the FBI Training Center in Quantico, Virginia, was in order, as evidenced in the photo above provided by Dodgers photographer Jon SooHoo on twitter.  For others, a walk around our nations capital would be the highlight of the day.  Check out Kenta Maeda in the photos below, via his Instagram account.

Another player had something else on his mind for his day off, though.  Brandon McCarthy decided to head to the Smithsonian.  Go here to see what he decided to share with the world.

  • This Day in Dodger History: In 1977 Don Sutton is named the All-Star Game MVP at Yankee Stadium.  He pitched three scoreless innings to help the National League win, 7-5.  In 1993 Raul Mondesi made his Major League debut by singling in his first at-bat (as a pinch-hitter in the 7th inning) against Phillies pitcher David West.
  • Happy Birthday, Rachel Robinson!  She is 94 years old today.

Blog Kiosk: 5/4/2016 - Dodgers Links - De Leon, Dodger Dogs and SportsNet LA for Frontier Customers?

Sometimes you need a little help from your friends.

Starting pitcher Scott Kazmir was far from perfect last night.  He threw 111 pitches in 6.2 innings of work; allowing seven hits, two homers and four earned runs.  Fortunately, it didn't matter.  The Dodgers offense picked up the slack and hammered home ten runs of their own to win the game 10-5.
The Dodgers walloped three home runs of their own; including a monstrous drive by Trayce Thompson that, quite literally, never landed. Via Ken Gurnick through Cut4:
"2-0 and he left a fastball out over the plate. Lucky enough I didn't miss it. Never had a ball that never came down. Someone's always caught it or it's landed somewhere. That was pretty interesting. . I actually didn't see until someone texted me. J.T. was talking about going up on the catwalk tomorrow. It would be funny."
Listen to Trayce talk about it with Alanna Rizzo here.  BTW, his brother Klay of the Golden State Warriors spoke a bit about the homer here.  You can also listen to Kazmir with Alanna here.  On the lighter side, several Dodgers pranked the Rays mascot before the game.  Watch it here via ESPN.  It's a gas!
