Diamondbacks Series Starts on Friday - Pregame Info and Other Stuff!

The next homestand starts this coming Friday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Below are some odds and ends for this upcoming homestand. Here are some important links:
Chorizo Torta
There are two new food items being made available for this homestand only, and they are available at the On Deck Circle stand on Field Level section 48, Loge Level section 133 and Reserve Level section 4. First, you can get the Desert Chili Cheese Dog which features a bacon wrapped hot dog, house made chili con carne, grated sharp cheddar cheese, diced tomato & onion, yellow mustard. Also available is the Chorizo Torta. This features a chorizo sausage split in half, ranchero bean spread, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, queso fresco, smoked jalapeno aioli.

Friday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:30 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:00 PM. It is Friday Night Fireworks, so fans will be able to go down onto the field after the game to watch the spectacle. The night's theme will be a 60th Anniversary Celebration featuring music from the 70's. Go here for more information on Friday Night Fireworks.

** UPDATE: It has just been announced that Lakers' Andre Ingram will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to this game.

BTW, the Dodgers will kick off their celebration of Jackie Robinson Day by hosting a “Breaking Barriers: A Legacy of Jackie Robinson” panel this morning at Dodger Stadium for 100 students from John Muir High School (Jackie Robinson’s alma mater), Garfield High School and others from select LAUSD schools, where students will hear from leaders in sports, science and business who have hit notable milestones in their careers. The program also includes an exercise where students will reflect on their own personal barriers and come up with solutions on how to overcome obstacles and become change-makers in their prospective fields. The panel will include Dodger Manager Dave Roberts, Dodger Research & Development Manager Megan Schroeder, Coca-Cola North America Vice President of Latin Affairs Peter Villegas and NASA Sr. Project Planner/Scheduler Jeffrey Slade.

Saturday's game starts at 6:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 3:30 PM, and stadium gates open at 4:00 PM.

It is Pups at the Park Night at Dodger Stadium.  Folks who ordered a special ticket package are invited to bring their dogs to the park and help cheer on the Dodgers.  If not already sold out go here for information (Dog tickets are now sold out-Human tickets are still available). A portion of the proceeds will be given to Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation. The pregame pup-parade begins at 5:00 PM.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Silent Auction features autographed memorabilia and is located outside the Vin Scully Press Box.

It is Jackie Robinson Day! Sunday's game starts at 1:10 PM. Auto gates open at 10:40 AM, and stadium gates open at 11:10 AM.

The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Jackie Robinson Jersey. See it on the right.

Pregame ceremonies include the honoring of current and former Jackie Robinson Foundation scholars, while students from Robinson’s high school, John Muir High School, will attend the game as part of the club’s Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball initiative. Also, students from Robinson’s elementary school, Cleveland Elementary School in Pasadena, will participate in Kids Take the Field.

As you know, all ballplayers will wear #42. For 2018, there will be additional on-field uniform elements, including a commemorative patch on all team caps and jersey sleeves, socks emblazoned with ‘42,’ and a brand new lightweight hooded fleece for batting practice and dugout wear, also featuring the ‘42’ logo.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Silent Auction features autographed memorabilia and is located outside the Vin Scully Press Box.
