Phillies Series Starts Friday - Stadium Giveaways, Pregame Info and Other Stuff!


The next homestand starts on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies on Alumni Weekend. Below are some odds and ends for this upcoming homestand. Here are some important links:

Friday's game starts at 7:10 PM. Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM.

It is Friday Night Fireworks, so fans will be able to go down onto the field after the game to watch the spectacle. Go here for more information on Friday Night Fireworks. The theme of the evening will be Disco Night (Giorgio Moroder Bday - "Father of Disco") with a special music mix by DJ Bowie Jane

It is the seventh annual LGBT Night at Dodger Stadium. Folks who order a special ticket package will get an exclusive Dodgers' LGBT Night duffle bag. See that on the right. If not already sold out go here for more information.

For the third consecutive year, the Dodgers have partnered with LA Pride and will host the official 2019 LA Pride kickoff party at Dodger Stadium beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Right Field Plaza Bar and lasting until first pitch at 7:10 p.m. Produced by non-profit organization Christopher Street West, LA Pride is Southern California's biggest LGBTQ+ celebration, with the LA Pride Festival and LA Pride Parade taking place in West Hollywood on the weekend of June 8-9.

LGBT Night at Dodger Stadium will feature a ceremonial first pitch by Dodger Owner Billie Jean King. The world's largest provider of programs and services for LGBT people, The Los Angeles LGBT Center, and its CEO Lorri Jean will be honored during pregame ceremonies with a Dodgers Community Hero Award. Jean is nationally recognized as one of the most seasoned and effective leaders in the LGBT civil rights movement, with OUT magazine twice listing her as one of the 50 most powerful gay and lesbian people in the nation.

The national anthem will be performed by singer, actor and strong supporter of the LGBT community Nikki Blonsky, who is best known for her roles in Hairspray, Geography Club and This is 40. The Dodgers will also welcome the cast and creator David Collins of Netflix’s hit show Queer Eye, and former Dodger Billy Bean, who currently serves as Major League Baseball’s Vice President & Special Assistant to the Commissioner, as special guests on LGBT Night.

BTW, Steve Garvey, who will be inducted into the Legends of Dodger Baseball on Saturday, will give Dodger fans grilling tips and samples at the King’s Hawaiian Grill in the Left Field Plaza.  This is a part of their “Grilling with The Garv” series. It begins at 6:00 PM, so get to the game early. He will take photos with fans and sign autographs up to the 7:10 p.m. first pitch.

The Dodgers will hold their annual Alumni Game this afternoon as part of Alumni Weekend presented, when the club will welcome back over 30 fan-favorite players to Dodger Stadium. The Alumni Game lineups will include Dave Anderson, Billy Bean, Nomar Garciaparra, Shawn Green, Kevin Gross, Jerry Hairston, Jr., Orel Hershiser, Lee Lacy, Kenny Landreaux, James Loney, Dennis Powell, Nick Punto, Dave Roberts, Jerry Royster, Steve Sax, Derrel Thomas, Ismael Valdez and Jose Vizcaino. The event will also feature appearances by Billy Ashley, Ron Cey, Tommy Davis, Steve Garvey, Rick Honeycutt, Tommy Lasorda, Davey Lopes, Rick Monday, Manny Mota, Bill Russell, Fernando Valenzuela, Maury Wills and Steve Yeager.

The Alumni game batting practice will begin at 4:00 PM, with introductions at 5:00 PM and the Alumni Game starting at 5:15 PM.

Steve Garvey will also be inducted into the Legends of Dodger Baseball during pregame ceremonies starting at 6:40 PM. Also, the first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Steve Garvey Bobblehead. See it on the right.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation will hold a silent auction on the Club Level outside the Vin Scully Press Box during today's game, and new for 2019, fans can bid on the unique memorabilia using MLB’s Ballpark App. Also new for 2019, fans will be able to purchase tickets for LADF’s 50-50 raffle using their credit cards. LADF will also continue to offer ribbon board messages as a fundraiser in 2019.

Alumni Weekend continues this afternoon when fans will have autograph and photo opportunities with alumni at Dodger Stadium entrances on the Left Field Plaza, Right Field Plaza, Club Level, Stadium Club and Left Field Reserve prior to the club’s 1:10 p.m. game.

After this afternoon's game kids, ages 14 and under, will have the opportunity to run the bases of Dodger Stadium -- dubbed 'Kids Run the Bases'. To participate, go to the centerfield area in the outfield pavilion section of the stadium in order to enter onto the field.
