2018 Topps Stadium Club - All the Dodgers Base Variation Cards

Finally, here's a look at all of the Dodgers' photo variation base cards found in packs of 2018 Topps Stadium Club. As I mentioned before, the Kershaw card is fantastic. The Mike Piazza variation card is also a thing of beauty.

Weekend Autograph Opportunity: Jesse Orosco & Rick Monday!

Here are this weekends autograph opportunities and events throughout the Southland. As always, be sure to check the Blue Heaven Calendar for other events (a link can always be found on the tab at the top of this page, just left of center), and always confirm with the establishment. Everything is subject to change.  Please email me with any tips about upcoming events in Southern California.  As the rest of the week progresses I'll update this post with other events (if there are any) as I become aware of them.  Also, I don't always list every event below, so be sure to check my Calendar.  I always try to favor free signing events over paying events.  Click on any pic to embiggen.

Blog Kiosk: 7/6/2018 - Dodgers Links - First Place, Baby!

Woo Hoo! For the first time this season the Dodgers are in first place.

The trepidation that began at the start of the season is now but a distant memory.

Below are more links to check out:

• This Day in Dodgers History: In 1938 Leo Durocher recorded a "little league" home run that started as an sacrifice bunt in the seventh inning during the All-Star Game played in Cincinnati. Durocher was credited with a bunt single and came around to score on errors by Jimmy Foxx and Joe DiMaggio. In 1979 the Dodgers purchased the contract of pitcher Fernando Valenzuela from Puebla of the Mexican League. In 1980 the Dodgers retired Duke Snider's uniform #4 during that days Old-Timers Day ceremonies at Dodger Stadium. In 2000 Vin Scully is voted the No. 1 sportscaster of the 20th century by members of the American Sportscasters Association.
• Happy Birthday, Frank Kellert, Willie Randolph & Germán Rivera!

2018 Topps Now - #409 - 9 XBH in Back-to-Back Games

The Dodgers love Pirate pitching. During a road-trip a month back they collected 28 hits and scored 22 runs during the three-game series in Pittsburgh. Now back home in Los Angeles they continue to rock the Bucs. Over the past two games the Dodgers have punished the Pirates by recording 32 hits and scoring 25 runs. Even more remarkably, the Dodgers accomplished something that they hadn't done since 1929. For the first time in 89 years the Dodgers collected nine extra-base-hits on consecutive games.
