Padres Series Starts Thursday - Scheduled Autograph Sessions, Pregame Info and Other Stuff!


The next homestand starts on Thursday against the San Diego Padres, and several former Dodgers are scheduled for an autograph session with fans during Sundays Viva Los Dodgers event.  Below are the scheduled autograph opportunities and other odds and ends for this upcoming homestand.

The San Diego Dog will be available for this homestand only against the Padres at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas located on the field, loge and reserve levels. It features a bacon-wrapped dog with house-pickled red onion, cilantro and fresh jalapeño.

The seventh 2016 issue of the new Dodger Insider magazine, featuring a salute to the Old-Timers Game on the cover, will be available at Dodger Stadium.  (see it on the left).  The Dodgers merged their previously separate Playbill and Dodger Insider magazines into one publication (at least 80 pages per issue) with a new edition available each homestand.  They are distributed at auto gates (one per vehicle) and via Fan Services for those who use alternate transportation.

Thursday, July 7th at 7:10 PM
LHP Drew Pomeranz vs. LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu

Thursday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM.  The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a #24 Walter Alston Retired Numbers Pin.  See it on the right.

DJ Adam will provide musical entertainment tomorrow in the right-field plaza and an airbrush tattoo artist will be in the left-field plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Joshua Morales of Los Angeles. Morales deployed to Afghanistan with the 1st Infantry Division in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2008-2009 and deployed to Iraq with the 1st Calvary Division in support of Operation New Dawn in 2011. His accolades include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Action Badge and Advanced Leader Course. Morales is currently assigned to the San Fernando Recruiting Company, Los Angeles Recruiting Battalion and is a student at the University of Texas, pursuing a degree in sports science and nutrition.

RHP Andrew Cashner vs. LHP Scott Kazmir

Friday's game starts at 7:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 4:40 PM, and stadium gates open at 5:10 PM.  It is Friday Night Fireworks, so fans will be able to go down onto the field after the game to watch the spectacle. The night's theme will be cars.  Musical selections will include The Beach Boys “Little Deuce Coup,” Beatles “Drive My Car,” Queen “I’m In Love With My Car,” The Clash “Brand New Cadillac,” Bruce Springsteen “Pink Cadillac” and War “Low Rider.”  Go here for more information on Friday Night Fireworks.

DJ Adam will provide musical entertainment in the right-field plaza and a face painter and a balloon artist will be in the left-field plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Chace Crawford, who starred in “Gossip Girl” and is now starring in “Undrafted,” a new movie to be released next week, will throw the ceremonial first pitch.
  • The Military Hero of the Game is retired U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Sergio Platas of Los Angeles. Platas enlisted in the Marines’ Delayed Entry Program in 1999. While on duty at Camp Lejeune, NC, he was assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, where his platoon was tasked with providing security around the base and with setting up an Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group in Mosul, Iraq, in 2003. He re-enlisted after his four years of service and was stationed at Camp Pendleton. He returned to Iraq for a second tour in September 2004 and a third tour to Iraq in 2006. He deployed for a fourth time to Helmand Province in Kandahar, Afghanistan, serving as the senior enlisted Marine and as the staff non-commissioned officer in charge on behalf of I Marine Expeditionary Force.  
  • The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) conducts silent auctions throughout the season featuring signed pieces of memorabilia from Dodger players, coaches and alumni. Auctions take place behind the Vin Scully press box on the club level. The items for auction tomorrow include a Clayton Kershaw autographed jersey, an Adrian Gonzalez autographed baseball and an Andre Ethier autographed photo. More than 25 items will be up for bid.

Saturday, July 9th at 4:15 PM
RHP Luis Perdomo vs. RHP Brandon McCarthy

Saturday's game starts at 4:15 PM.  Auto gates open at 1:45 PM, and stadium gates open at 2:15 PM.  It is Movie Night at Dodger Stadium.  The club will treat fans to “Top Gun,” and it will be screened for fans following Saturday’s game. Screenings are free with a game-day ticket. Fans sitting in the right field pavilion and left field pavilion will be invited down to the field postgame for a better viewing experience.

It is also "Pups in the Park" day at the stadium.  Fans who purchase a special event ticket in the All-You-Can-Eat Right Field Pavilion are invited to bring their dogs to the park and help cheer on their home team.  Go here for more information.  A pup parade on the warning track will take place at approximately 3:00 PM.  Also, a “Best Show Dog” contest will also take place with five dogs chosen by a Dodger player.  A ticket must also be purchased for each dog. Also required is a valid Rabies certificate with a current expiration date for each dog.

  • The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Navy Petty Officer Second Class Jesus Saucedo of San Diego. Saucedo joined the Navy in 2006 as an engineering aide for the Navy’s construction force, the Seabees. He became an underwater construction technician in Port Hueneme and has completed two deployments as a dive technician to several locations in the Pacific. Saucedo is continuing his education by pursuing a degree in civil engineering at Oxnard College.
  • LADF will welcome Los Angeles Chapter of the Positive Coaching Alliance. In partnership with 3,500 schools and youth sports organizations nationwide, PCA develops better athletes, better people through resources for youth and high school sports coaches, parents, administrators and student-athletes. LADF awarded PCA LA a $13,350 grant to help open the LA chapter. PCA’s Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Winners will be recognized on-field pre-game. Each senior receives a $2,000 college scholarship.

Sunday's game starts at 1:10 PM.  Auto gates open at 10:40 AM, and stadium gates open at 11:10 AM.  The first 15,000 kids 14 years old or younger in attendance will receive a Kids Kiké Hernandez Fathead.  See it on the left.

It is Viva Los Dodgers in the Dodgers parking lot prior to the game at the Historic 76 Station.  Festivities begin at 11:10 AM.  Entertainment will be provided by Spotlight Dance Studio folklorico group and Changui Majadero. Dodger alumni Kenny Landreaux and Derrel Thomas will sign autographs for fans.

It is also Girl Scouts Day at Dodger Stadium.  Folks who ordered a special ticket package in the All You Can Eat Right Field Pavilion or Infield Reserve will get an exclusive Girl Scouts/Dodgers' patch.  If not already sold out go here for information.
  • The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Elissa Cook of Los Angeles. Cook was assigned to the USS Gunston Hall, Landing Ship, Dock-44. She served at several commands, including four years at Navy Recruiting District Buffalo, three and a half years at Navy Recruiting District New England, four years at Navy Recruiting District Denver and two years at Naval Air Station Pensacola. Cook is currently serving at Navy Recruiting District Los Angeles, where she is the assistant chief recruiter. Cook participated in the Girl Scouts of America as a brownie in the 1980s and serves as a mentor to young women.
  • The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) conducts silent auctions throughout the season featuring signed pieces of memorabilia from Dodger players, coaches and alumni. Auctions take place behind the Vin Scully press box on the club level. The items for auction Sunday include a Hyun-Jin Ryu autographed jersey, a Yasiel Puig autographed phot and a Dodgers Batting Practice Experience. More than 25 items will be up for bid.
  • The second annual Dodger Spouses Mystery Bag fundraising event benefiting LADF will take place when stadium gates open at 11:10 a.m. For a $40 cash donation, fans can choose a mystery bag containing an autographed baseball from one of more than 20 Dodger players, coaches and alumni. Several Dodger spouses along with LADF staff will be working the sale booths located at the left-field plaza, loge level concourse and the club level by the Vin Scully press box. There are more than 1,400 mystery bags available with baseballs featuring signatures from Clayton Kershaw, Adrián González, Justin Turner, Brandon McCarthy, Trayce Thompson, and Dave Roberts, just to name a few.
