Collection: Yhency Brazoban 2005 Team Heroes Auto
Here is another card from autographed card collection and it features the once promising reliever Yhency Brazoban. He was a tall pitcher with a blazing fastball that appeared to jump past batters with a zip. When Yhency first came up for the Dodgers he was used primarily as a setup man, but closing out games looked to be his future. In 2005 he saved 21 games. Then, the bottom fell out. An elbow injury led to Tommy John Surgery which led to more arm troubles. Soon he was released, played in the Mexican League, then with the Mets, Ranger, and Diamondbacks, and was eventually traded to the Softbank Hawks in Japan. There, he furthers his career in the Nippon Professional Baseball League.Here is a 2005 Donruss Team Heroes autographed card.

eBay: A Kiss and Some Awards
There really is nothing better than vintage press photos. Here are a couple on eBay I thought worthy of highlighting.

After the flurry of recent Dodger awards this photo seems very appropriate.

"MAGLIE NO-HITS PHILS, 5-0, Brooklyn, N.Y.: Brooklyn Dodgers catcher Roy Campanella plants a big kiss on the cheek of pitcher Sal Maglie in the dressing room here Sept. 25, 1956 after the 39-year-old Giant cast-off hurled a no-hit, no-run game against the Phils to move the Brooks to within a half game of the league-leading Milwaukee Braves. The 5-0 win was the first no-hitter in Sal's long career, and he is the oldest hurler since Cy Young to pitch a hitless game."

An Brief Artist Interview: Tommervik
I was recently checking out eBay and ran across a series of original paintings that caught my eye. Now, I'm not an art aficionado, by any means, but I do take note of things I like. I was struck by the abstract view of these Dodgers ballplayers in action.

They were painted by Tommervik who has been very prolific. There are 145 paintings listed on eBay, and the range of subject matters not only includes sports but also pop culture. The opening asking prices are exorbitant, but I believe the artist is looking for offers to consider. I did a little bit of research and found that this artist has been written about before, most notably on various Star Wars websites. Check out an interview on TorWars here. I figured I should give it a try and communicate with the artist myself, as well.
